Founder

B. P Rao & Co, CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS was established in Bangalore, India in 1976. It was founded by Mr. B.P.RAO. He was Elected as the President of the Institute of Chartered of Accountants India (ICAI) on 18th January 1994 for the year 1994-95. He was nominated as a Council Member for International Federation of Chartered Accountants (IFAC) for the period of 1995-97. He has been nominated as member of Membership Committee and WTO Task Force of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). Elected as the Vice President of the ICAI on 18th January 1993 for the year 1993-94. He was elected as a Member of Central Council of ICAI in the year 1988 and again re-elected in the year 1992 and 1995. He was the Chairman of Continuing Education Programme Committee of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India during the year 1990-91 and was the Chairman of Expert Advisory Committee of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India during the year 1989-90. He was also the Treasurer of Southern India Regional Council of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India during the year 1984-85 and was elected as Member of Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in the year 1982.

He was nominated as a member in Arbitration Committee of Bangalore Stock Exchange and was a Director in BE-DELFT Electronics Ltd., Poona from 1995 to 2002, Director in State Bank of Mysore, Bangalore from 1997 to 2003, Director in Mysore Sales International Ltd., Bangalore, Director in in BgSE Financials Limited (February 2009 – May 2012), Director in M/s. Bharath Earth Movers Limited (2017-2019), Director in Bangalore Properties and Securities Ltd (Formerly known as Bangalore Stock Exchange Ltd) and Director in M/s. Numaligarh Refinery Limited. He was the Chairman of Audit Committee of Board of Directors of State Bank of Mysore for six years from 1997 to 2003. He was a Member in Primary Market Advisory Committee, constituted by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and was also a Member of Regional Direct Taxes Advisory Committee. He was also the Chairman of audit committee of Karnataka State Cricket Association, Bangalore.
